Soups Celery Carrot Garlic Onion Peas Ham Pork Lunch
2 c Split peas
12 c Water
1 bone
1/2 ts t
1/4 ts Black per
1/4 ts lic powder
2 md ons; chopped
3 Stalks ery; chopped,
2 rots; chopped

Soak peas 10-15 minutes removing those that float to the top; drain. Combine peas, water and ham bone and bring to a boil; skim and add spices. Cover and simmer 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove ham bone, chop ham meat and return to soup. Add other ingredients and simmer covered for 1 more hour. Remove bay leaf, cool and refrigerate. Serve following day for best flavor. MAJ JOHN P.
