2 cooking les small to medium
2 X 15 ml spoonfuls granulated ar
100 gm plain ur
50 gm ter
50 gm granulated ar
2 1/2 ml ground namon
Preheat oven to gas mark 4 Wash, core and slice apples. Place half the apples ion a baking dish, sprinkle over with the 15 - 30 (1 - 2 tablespoons) sugar. Place other half of apples on top. Sieve flour and cinnamon into a bowl. Rub in butter until it resembles fine bread crumbs Stir in 25 gm sugar Sprinkle over the apples Bake until topping is pale brown. Serve warm with cream or ice cream.

Chocolate Chip Crumble

1 pound BRICK garine (soft margarine will NOT work)
2 cups packed wn sugar
2 teaspoons illa extract
4 cups -purpose flour
2 cups isweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). In large bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Add margarine and cut in with pastry blender or with a fork. Mix well until it is all crumbly. This will not be a doughy mixture. It will be dry - like cheese cake crust. Stir in the chocolate chips and if desired, walnuts. Press the mixture into an ungreased 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges begin to brown. Do NOT overbake!!! Let cool slightly but cut into bars while still a bit warm. Leave in the pan until completely cool, or the cookies will fall apart.
